Practical seminar on accident reconstruction in cooperation with the CTS & GTÜ Academy

This new Seminar on accident research celebrates its premiere in the field of accident reconstruction in 2025. The aim of the seminar is the practical application of evidence recovery, data collection and documentation of road accidents.

Tools and methods of collision analysis and the interpretation of deformations, traces and connecting facts are trained on the basis of a real crash.

Competent VUFO trainers will be available for you as contact persons on both days

Necessary prior knowledge: Accident recording, accident reconstruction

Please bring along: Laptop with PC crash. The reconstruction is to be reconstructed by the participants.

Basic course in accident reconstruction

VUFO has several years of experience in the field of 3D accident site recording and further processing of the collected data (e.g. in the context of accident reconstruction using PC Crash). The aim of this Seminars is to teach the basics of various 3D recording methods and the creation of point clouds.

The aim of this part is to provide basic knowledge about accident recording. In addition, special aspects are covered that are necessary for further handling of the data collected.

The aim of this part is to present the theoretical principles of accident analysis. Participants are taught about driving physics and movement behaviour. In addition, the contents of lane science and theoretical accident reconstruction are discussed. The course concludes with an introduction to biomechanical principles.

The aim of this part is to impart practical reconstruction skills. Participants are encouraged to reconstruct example cases with appropriate assistance. A particular focus is placed on collisions between pedestrians and cars, motorbikes and cars, bicycles and lorries and cars and cars. Basic knowledge of PC Crash is a prerequisite for effective participation in this part.

Basics Three-dimensional recording of accident sites

VUFO has several years of experience in the field of 3D accident site recording and further processing of the collected data (e.g. in the context of accident reconstruction using PC crash). The aim of the Seminars is to teach the basics of 3D recording and the creation of point clouds.

Basics of electronic vehicle data

Electronic vehicle data is becoming increasingly important in the field of accident analysis as an essential connecting factor. In this module, participants are given a detailed introduction to the basics of electronic vehicle data to prepare them for this aspect of accident analysis in the best possible way. Practical examples are used to demonstrate the limits and possibilities of using electronic vehicle data.

Internship accident investigation

Every accident analysis is based on the data collected from the scene of the accident and the vehicles involved. The quality of these connecting facts can be significantly influenced by a structured approach and detailed practical knowledge. This practical course mainly teaches practical content for the procedure at the accident scene. The module is based on accompanying the VUFO survey team at the accident scene during data collection.
